These terms apply when you use the Qatrah app and service ("the service"), provided by Qatrah of Amman, Jordan ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them. Please read them with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
1. The service
Qatrah monitors the water in your tanks. Sensors on your tanks measure the water level and send it through a gateway in your home to our servers, and the app shows you levels, usage, refills, possible leaks and forecasts, and sends you alerts.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Give accurate information, and keep your email address up to date: it is how you reset your password.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Your devices
- Each sensor and gateway can be paired to one account at a time. Pair only devices you own or are allowed to use.
- Before you give or sell a device to someone else, unpair it in the app, or delete your account, so they can pair it to theirs.
- Install devices as instructed. How well Qatrah works depends on how and where they are installed.
- Anything about the devices themselves, such as the price, warranty or repairs, is covered by the terms under which you got them.
4. Readings and alerts are estimates
Levels, usage, refills, leak checks and forecasts are worked out from sensor measurements and are estimates. They can be wrong or late, or missing altogether, because of the installation, the tank's shape, the sensor, its battery, the signal, your home's internet connection, or our service. Alerts can be delayed or fail to arrive.
Qatrah helps you keep an eye on your water. It does not replace checking your tanks yourself, and it must not be relied on for safety-critical or emergency purposes.
5. Using the service fairly
Do not misuse the service. In particular, do not:
- try to access another person's account or devices;
- interfere with or overload the service;
- send it false data;
- copy or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example for maintenance. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop the service, we will give you reasonable notice where we can.
7. Ownership
The app, the service and the Qatrah name belong to us. Your information is yours. You allow us to use it to provide the service as described in the Privacy Policy, and to use tank readings, with nothing that identifies you, to improve the service.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. We will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
9. Our responsibility
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for loss or damage caused by relying on readings, forecasts or alerts, such as running out of water, a tank overflowing, or a leak, nor for indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app and ask you to accept the new terms before you continue using the service.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the courts of Amman have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
